Project Engineer (Construction)
Job Summary:
PTL Fabricators is seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated Project Engineer with experience in the construction industry to join our project management team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Procore, Primavera P6, and other project management tools, with demonstrated expertise in scheduling, submittals, and documentation. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, comprehensive blueprint knowledge, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative approach to working with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduling
• Develop, update, and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project Primavera P6.
• Track project progress, identify risks, and assist in developing recovery plans to keep projects on schedule.
Submittals & Documentation
• Develop, maintain, and manage submittal logs in Procore.
• Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Review submittal documentation for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Oversee and verify drawing revisions and as-built markups throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and design teams to ensure timely submission and approval of documents.
• Utilize Bluebeam and other tools for document review, markup, and collaboration.
Reporting & Communication
• Prepare and maintain project reports, meeting minutes, and progress updates.
• Support project managers in tracking RFIs, change orders, cost controls and other project-related documentation
General Project Support
• Track material procurement and delivery schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Assist in project cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Maintain accurate records in Procore, Microsoft Excel, and other software systems.
• Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and filed appropriately.
Key Attributes & Competencies:
• Proficiency with Procore project management software.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Familiarity with Bluebeam for document review and markups.
• Experience with Primavera P6 for project scheduling.
• Attention to Detail – accuracy and thoroughness in managing schedules, submittals, and reporting.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• (or equivalent work experience).
• Previous experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in the construction industry.
• Hands-on experience with Procore and Primavera P6 is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of construction processes, blueprint interpretation, and documentation standards.
• Experience in industrial or commercial construction projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of cost estimation techniques.
• Familiarity with BIM and CAD software.
Work Environment:

• Occasional travel to project sites may be required
