SUMMARY:Business Development Committee
DESCRIPTION:Focuses efforts on key initiatives to support all forms of business in the community. The speaker series primary programs include the Women in Business and Power Breakfast events that provide speakers to educate and inspire business owners to the next level. The Live Local campaign\, which encourages residents to think and buy local\, was an initiative of this committee and was marketed throughout the community by sponsoring member businesses. The committee visited many of our local industries and businesses this past year to show our support and appreciation of existing industries in our community. The committee also supports the Better Beef Show and Farm Family of the Year. The Kenneth Johnson Memorial Award was presented to the Chamber at the awards program for their dedication and support of the Beef Show. The Clarksville Young Professionals kicked off in October 2008 with over 150 members wanting to build relationships\, develop professionally\, become politically and philanthropically active\, and contribute to the economic development and high quality of life in our community. The Home Show is coordinated by this committee.
